George Souders was an American race car driver who became famous for winning the 1927 Indianapolis 500. He was only 22 years old when he won the race, making him one of the youngest winners at the time. Souders later retired from racing and lived a relatively quiet life after his racing career.

Roscoe Sarles was an American race car driver born in New Albany, Indiana, in 1892 who became known as a fearless competitor during the early years of auto racing. Sarles died at age 30 in 1922 when his race car crashed and caught fire during a race at Kansas City Speedway.
