Held in conjunction with placement of new grave markers and blessing of gravesites with presentation by IMS Historian Donald Davidson. Blessing of Chevrolet graves and those of “Dutch” Bauman and Harry Endicott by INDYCAR Ministry Chaplain Fr. Glenn O’Connor. Luncheon follows at Bynum’s Steakhouse.
Honorees Biography Summary
The Chevrolet brothers, Louis, Arthur, and Gaston, were Swiss-American brothers who became important figures in the early automobile industry. Louis Chevrolet was a famous race-car driver and helped create the Chevrolet Motor Company with William C. Durant in 1911. The brothers’ work and racing achievements helped establish the Chevrolet name as an important part of American automotive history.
