Honoree Biography Summary
Tony Elliott was a race-car driver from Warsaw, Indiana, who became one of the state’s most successful sprint-car racers. He won two USAC National Sprint Car Championships, in 1998 and 2000, along with numerous races in sprint cars, midgets, and Silver Crown cars. Elliott was known as an Indiana short-track racing icon and also won the Australian Midget Championship in 2004. He died in a private airplane accident in 2015 and was later honored for his racing career by the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame. Historical Marker Database
