Tony Hulman Jr. was an Indiana businessman who ran his family’s successful Hulman & Company and helped make Clabber Girl a well-known brand. In 1945, he purchased the neglected Indianapolis Motor Speedway and invested in restoring it, bringing the Indianapolis 500 back in 1946. Hulman became a major figure in American auto racing and is remembered for preserving the Speedway and its traditions until his death in 1977.
