Honoree Biography Summary
Wilbur Shaw (1902–1954) was an American race-car driver and three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500. He won the Indy 500 in 1937 and 1939 and finished second in 1933. Shaw later became president of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and helped establish it as a major racing venue.
