Honoree Biography Summary

Larry Rice was an American race car driver and broadcaster who competed in IndyCar and was especially known for his success at the Indianapolis 500. He raced in the Indianapolis 500 several times, with his best finish coming in 1980 when he placed 11th. After retiring from racing, Rice became a well-known motorsports broadcaster before his death in 2006.

Larry Rice to be honored! IRMA's next marker unveiling will be for the great Larry Rice, and will occur on Wednesday, May 4th, at 2:30pm in Brownsburg, Indiana. IMS Historian, Donald Davidson, will be the featured speaker. The location is at the Brownsburg Trail Shelter, 1080 N. Green St., Brownsburg, IN (I-74 & SR 267 southwest corner) The invitation says we're to use the Walmart parking lot.
